"Why That's the Nation's Oldest Police Station"
A painting by Susi Havens-Bezaire completed on September 29, 2018
I set up my easel, slightly encroaching the intersection, so I could get the view of the railroad crossing framing the old structure across the tracks. Half way through the painting, a police car pulled up. "Oh, darn," I thought he was going to make me move. Instead the officer stopped to share with me that I was painting the nation's oldest continuing working police station. He stayed to watch me paint and chat for a while.
